Asahi Building Roof

One of the Asahi buildings on the Sumida river in Tokyo. I don’t need to tell you what it looks like, but what it was meant to be is a golden flame, however building laws meant the fixture (which they’d already built) couldn’t be put atop the skyscraper in the correct way, so they lay it on its side.

In case you think I doctored this photo for the sake of a hilarious story, first, thank you for believing I have such talent and second Wikipedia page.
